The Great ShakeOut – How Inaba Denko’s products are created to endure earthquakes

Shakeout

International ShakeOut Days is always the third Thursday of October.  Today the whole US and parts of the word are taking part on earthquake drills. Japan, where our HQ and factories are located, is prone to earthquakes, and we take preparedness seriously.

Our mission is to make sure that even our smallest fixtures are strong enough to protect people's lives. That's why we created the anti-deflection brace.

The parts are made with high-grade stainless still and can be attached with the use of bolt nuts. In order to fit to variety of installations it comes in different shapes and sizes.

When a 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit Tohoku in 2011, devastating the entire city and taking almost 16,000 lives,  Inaba Denko rose up to the occasion. The video below simulates the intensity of the earthquake.

We take the ShakeOut day very seriously, and make sure our products are compliant. You can see throughout this simulation that our anti-deflection brace withstand's the tremor while securely holding the AC.

About the Great ShakeOut:

While Covid-19 has brought many uncertainties and challenges, one thing's for sure: ShakeOut is happening this year!

While International ShakeOut Day is always the third Thursday of October (this year: October 15), as always you can hold your #ShakeOut drill when and where you want. You can choose another date or several dates, and include people in multiple locations (home, work, or school), perhaps through video conferencing.

It's a good idea to practice earthquake safety in different situations each year, and ShakeOut Organizers are here to support you.
