Mini Split Installation

Inaba Denko specializes in mini split system HVAC accessories, such as line sets, lineset cover hides, drain hoses and more. Our knowledge and expertise with mini-split HVAC systems & accessories is now being shared with everyone. With technologies always advancing, how can we be sure that mini split HVAC air conditioner units are the most effective solution for heating/cooling of an enclosed space?

How is Mini Split Different Than Traditional Central Air?

A ductless mini-split system offer several key-differences from traditional central air & furnace heating systems. Mini-split systems are ductless, meaning that they do not move air through ducting to provide rooms or areas with heating/cooling. This allows more control and flexibility of the layout construction as well as creating multi-zone heating/cooling depending on the individuals comfort levels.

Mini-Splits are often leveraged for larger homes or enclosed spaces, as mini-splits can take advantage of multiple indoor units to heat/cool separate portions of a home or enclosed space. This allows the residents or employees within different spaces to enjoy different levels of temperature comfort by controlling each individual section of the home, or enclosed space. This means that someone in room A can have their temperature set to varying degrees compared to someone in room B, in fact, either room can have their individual unit turned off or on depending on their needs.

Traditional Central Air units are usually controlled by one thermostat, or several that are interconnected to the main thermostat. These thermostats would control the temperature for the entire home or enclosed space. When temperature is above the desired set temperature, the unit will begin cooling. This is a disadvantage compared to mini-split systems because mini-split systems can set specific temperatures for different rooms or areas, which cannot be individually specified with a traditional central air unit.

What are the Advantages of a Mini-Split HVAC System?

We’ve discussed that mini-split systems have the ability for multi-zone temperature controls, which is one of the larger advantages to traditional central air units. This usually translates to lower energy bills because less-trafficked areas within an enclosed space or room can be turned-off when not being used, and other rooms can also be set for energy efficiency.

Mini Split systems are also ductless, which is a major advantage when it comes to designing and building a new home that will leverage mini split systems, as you will not need to ensure that large ducts fit within walls, ceilings. This reduces the overall home-building cost as less construction materials are needed, and less holes & vents will need to be placed within every room to utilize the ducting.

Since mini-split systems are ductless and allow for varying multi-zone temperature control, mini-split systems also inherently allow for quicker installation times. Without the need for structural changes like ducting, or wall vents, ductless mini split HVAC systems only require a small hole in the wall to connect each of the indoor units to the outdoor compressor unit.
