RSB Wall Sleeve

The Slimduct RSB HVAC Wall Sleeve is designed to pair with the RWP Wall Flange, creating a sealed wall penetration for RD lineset installations. It allows commercial VRF/VRV linesets to pass through walls while protecting the structure and maintaining system integrity.

As part of the Slimduct RD system, it contributes to a clean, professional finish in exposed applications. A wide array of fittings, including risers, vertical mountings, and under-slab mountings, is readily available to easily customize while on the job site, during the installation process. This HVAC wall sleeve can also be installed in any orientation.

This line set wall sleeve is engineered to make installation a time-saving process. No special tools are required to assemble and connect the interlocking covers. The screws needed are included with the product.

Fabricated from sheets of high-grade, corrosion-resistant, and hot-dipped galvanized steel, Slimduct RD is coated with zinc, aluminum, and magnesium. This scratch, abrasion, and corrosion-resistant coating offers better protection than stainless steel, even in highly corrosive environments such as coastal areas.

Note: Always use this lineset wall sleeve in combination with RWP.

Q. Can this be used in soil affected by salinity?
A. Yes, please see the Instruction Manual for details.

Q. Can the standard type withstand a person’s weight? Can it be used as a passage?
A. No, the standard lineset wall sleeve is not load-bearing. A walkway type is available and is designed to support the weight of an average person for temporary maintenance access only. It is not intended for regular walkway use.

Q. The surface is rusty. Is it not resistant to corrosion?
A. It is corrosion-resistant, but it is not corrosion-proof. Surface scratches from installation or regular use may cause rust to appear earlier. Over time, the protective zinc layers can also wear down. Please refer to the Product Catalog or Instruction Manual for details.

Q. I want to switch from the standard type to the walkway. Can I just change the cover?
A. No, the supports also need to be upgraded to heavier-duty types to handle the added load.

Q. What brackets should I use to mount it on the wall?
A. Use the S Type RZM Bracket and RZB Riser. For RD-150 type installations, use the 300 S Type or another wall-mount bracket such as RZW. Do not use a bracket longer than the S Type, as it can affect wall balance and lead to installation problems.

Q. Is it possible to buy only a reinforcement plate?
A. Yes, please Contact Inaba Denko America or your nearest dealer.

Q. Do I need a wall plate or a wall sleeve?
A. In most cases, yes. A wall plate or wall sleeve helps prevent rainwater from entering the building and supports water drainage. Other water management methods, such as creating a chamber box, may also be used.

Q. If I install a standing Wall Sleeve or Wall Plate, will it completely stop water?
A. When installed according to the Instruction Manual, it can help prevent standing water from entering. However, this cannot be guaranteed in every condition. Testing has confirmed that the wall plate showed no signs of water penetration when installed correctly.

Q. Can I use a free joint in place of a fixed joint?
A. Yes, if it sits level to the ground. However, it is not recommended because the strength after installation can decrease over time. For a better fit, avoid continuous use of free joints and corner connections.

Q. What should I know when cutting a straight-line duct?
A. Use a high-speed cutter like nippers, snips or a cutting wheel. For sizes larger than 450 type, a cutting wheel is recommended. After cutting, deburr the edge with a file and apply anti-rust treatment such as Zn-Al type or zinc-rich paint to help protect the cut surface.
