Q. Is the insulation for the PAIRCOIL products UV resistant?.

A. The PAIRCOIL products undergo the SWOM test to ensure they are up to ASTM G151 and G152 standards. However, to keep the products in good condition and protect them from severe weather conditions, rainwater damage, pollution, accidental damage, or vandalism, we recommend safeguarding them with our SLIMDUCT and UV Resistant Adhesive Tape.

Q. Is the insulation for PAIRCOIL UV resistant?

A. PAIRCOIL has met the standard for ASTM G154 for UV exposure. It is also recommended to use our SLIMDUCT products to provide extra protection against damages that may be incurred due to accidental damage, pests or other external forces.

Q. Are cable ties included in the PAIRCOIL packaging?

A. No, cables ties are not included and must be purchased separately.

Q. Are both ends of PAIRCOIL flared?

A. PAIRCOIL is not flared and flare nuts are not included. The installer will flare based on the application and will use the flare nuts provided by the equipment manufacturer.

Q. Is PAIRCOIL compatible with R32 refrigerant?

A. Yes, PAIRCOIL has been tested to 700 psi which is more than enough for HVAC applications with current refrigerants.

Q. Can these products be used for applications outside of heating and air conditioning?

A. PAIRCOIL is designed and manufactured specifically for use in air conditioning systems. Our warranty does not cover any use outside of Air-conditioning or Heat pump applications.

Q. How are the products packaged?

A. PAIRCOIL products are supplied in individually-wrapped cardboard boxes to prevent damage during shipping and transportation.

Q. I want to hide the pipes on the Mini-split AC. Are there any precautions I should know about?

A. To hide the pipes of the mini-split AC unit behind a wall or in an attic, please consider the following_
Possible Advantages_
* Aesthetically pleasing with the pipes out of sight.
* Increased number of locations to install the AC unit.
Possible Disadvantages_
* Expensive. There is a possibility that the cost of the initial installation as well as replacement installations could be higher than average. When replacing the pipes, the pipes are stripped from the wall, and wallpaper may need to be redone afterward.
* Possible increase in issues. It may prove difficult to take actions required to solve issues. When there is a problem with the lineset, the unit will cease to function, clearly indicating there is something wrong. However, since issues with leaky drain pipes or condensation are not easily identified from the surface, significant damage could occur before being discovered. Pests and insects could also contribute to the damage.

* Future air conditioning units may be incompatible. The necessary air conditioning output and pipe sizes change depending on the size of the room where the unit is located. Each air conditioner manufacturer also uses different pipe sizes, which should also be taken into account.
Generally speaking, underground (hidden) piping often sustains poorer conditions (in terms of temperature, moisture, and ventilation) than typically exposed piping and requires extra caution to fend off condensation. Please make sure to have an experienced contractor perform the installation.

Q. I want to hide the lineset. Are there any precautions I should know about?

A. There are many ways to hide linesets such as within a wall or attic space. Both of those options come with code restrictions based on fire and safety. You may also bury the linesets but there are specific methods to ensure the longevity of the copper tubing. Please reach out to the governing code authority for specifics for either option.

Installing the lineset down an exterior wall and covering it with our SLIMDUCT product is the preferred method. This provides additional protections from UV rays, pests and other external factors that may cause damage.

SLIMDUCT offers a variety of fittings and colors to fit most any exterior design.

Q. When installing the unit and the pipes are exposed no matter what, what can I do to effectively protect insulation?

A. Please use our UV Resistant Tape (UVT), which has been proven to be excellent at withstanding UV rays.

Q. How can I protect the insulation in an application where the lineset is exposed?

A. PAIRCOIL linesets have a UV rating and can last for years with no issues. For extra protection, you may use our UV Resistant Tape (UVT), which has been proven to be excellent at withstanding UV rays.
