Order of operations
The sequence matters more than most rough-in checklists suggest:
1. Plan the route first. Flexible lineset gives you more options here — use them before anything is fastened.
2. Set the hangers. Support spacing should be established before the lineset goes up, not corrected after.
3. Run the lineset and secure it into the hangers.
4. Add protection plates anywhere movement or vibration could wear the insulation at a contact point.
5. Cover last. A lineset cover encloses the run — it doesn’t carry it. Piping that sags inside a cover will stress the joints and can deform the cover itself.
